Top 3 Packing Hacks for Van Travel

Packing your belongings efficiently is an essential part of van life and travel, but it can be tough if the weather is unpredictable or if you are doing a variety of activities.

  1. Packing Cubes

Packing cubes can help with this issue tremendously. They are particularly helpful if you are travelling with multiple people, you are on a long term trip or if you live in your van. You can stack then, label them and fit several of them into one cabinet. They help maintain organization in the van and make accessing your belongings so much easier.

There are many companies out there that make these, but the Amazon Basics Small Packing Cubes are my favorites. Not only are they affordable, but they fit so well into any compartment in the van and can be used to hold a variety of things. I use them for organizing clothing, shoes, electronics and kitchen supplies.

  2. Soft Baskets

Another excellent packing pack are seemingly simple: Soft Baskets. I actually learned this hack from one of our clients. They use them in their upper cabinets and they fit so perfectly! Soft baskets keep everything so organised and accessible. They are perfect for all misc. shaped items: sunscreens, sunglasses, hats, water bottles, etc. You can buy these just about anywhere, but these 11” Storage Baskets from Target are a great size.

  3. Drawer Organizers

If you have travelled in a van before, you know that your drawers must be multipurpose because they get packed with a variety of things. One drawer can hold kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies and a variety of other miscellaneous small items. Silverware organisers are always great, but I also recommend a Drawer Organizer Set that has a variety of sizes. This way, you can use them for multiple drawers.
